Verns Dropoff

Verns Dropoff is a reef dive siteoff the coast near Roatán, Honduras. The drop-off features a steep underwater slope running from shallow depths to deeper water, typical of Caribbean reef walls. Visibility is commonly good, with clear blue water and mild currents that may pick up on the outer edges. The site typically hosts a variety of Caribbean reef inhabitants such as snappers, parrotfish, angelfish, surgeonfish, and urchins along the drop-off ridges; occasionally larger species may be seen further offshore. Access is straightforward from nearby beaches or boats, with entry usually from a sandy bottom and a gradual descent to the wall. This site is suitable for experienced and beginner divers depending on current and depth, and pairs well with other Roatán reefs in the area.
