Sting Ray Station (Ras Mohamed)

Sting Ray Station is a coral-reef run-off site located near the Ras Mohamed area in the southern Sinai. It features a gently sloping sandy plateau backed by a ridge of hard corals, with occasional openings that drop to about 15–25 metres. The site is known for clear water, good visibility and steady currents that can sweep divers along the reef edge. Expect typical Red Sea wildlife such as reef fish, eagle rays, and occasional larger pelagics, along with grazing species on the shallower slopes. Access is straightforward from nearby Sharm El Sheikh, with entry usually from sheltered beaches or a small reef notch. This site suits intermediate divers comfortable with drift and reef navigation; always plan for a safety stop and current checks before descent.
