Sharm El Sheikh

Ss Thistlegorm (Wreck)

SS Thistlegorm is one of the Red Sea’s most famous wreck dives. The British armed cargo steamship, built in 1940, lies on the seabed off Sharm El Sheikh and rests at depths commonly reached by experienced wreck divers. The wreck offers multiple exterior avenues and open holds filled with wartime cargo, including motorcycles, trucks and ammunition, providing a striking glimpse into WWII logistics. Divers should be trained for wreck penetration and careful with currents and silt. The surrounding coral reefs and clear Red Sea waters typically offer good visibility, with abundant reef life nearby.
