Ras Katy

Ras Katy is a shallow reef dive site near Sharm El Sheikh, typically explored from shore or short boat rides. The reef features a relatively gentle slope with scattered coral heads, providing a straightforward entry and a relaxed swim among healthy hard corals and a variety of reef fish. Visibility is often good in calm conditions, with water temperatures typical of the northern Red Sea. Expect a calm, sheltered site suitable for beginners and for refresher dives, with common species such as parrotfish, bannerfish, damselfish, snappers and occasional parrotfish. Currents are usually mild, making this a relaxed dive focusing on structure, color and macro life close to the reef. Accessibility from Sharm El Sheikh is convenient, and the site is popular for short morning dives before checking out nearby wrecks or pinnacles in the area.
