Roatán

Forbidden

Forbidden is a local dive site off Roatán, located a short distance offshore. It features typical Caribbean reef structures with gentle to moderate slope, transition from sandy patches to lush coral heads. Access from the beach or a short boat ride is straightforward, and conditions are generally calm with visibility often ranging from good to very good. The site is commonly visited by local operators for guided dives, making it suitable for recreational divers. Expect a mix of standard Caribbean reef inhabitants such as small groupers, angelfish, parrotfish, snappers, hawkfishes, and reef-dwelling invertebrates, with healthy coral formations. Bottom depth commonly remains shallow to mid-range, making it a pleasant dive for a relaxed underwater experience. Currents are usually mild but can pick up with changes in wind; plan dives with local operators and follow reef etiquette to protect the environment.
