Malé

Embudu Channel

Embudu Channel is a marine stretch in the central Malé Atoll known for clear blue water and easy access from nearby resorts. The site features gentle reef edges, sloping sand patches, and drop-offs that attract a variety of reef fish, wrasse, and occasional turtles. It is suitable for newer divers and for drift dives in light currents, with calm conditions commonly prevailing. Divers typically enter from shore points or beach ladders and explore shallow reef slopes before drifting along the channel walls. Visibility is often good, and seabed structure supports a mix of hard corals and macro life. Nearby atolls can offer similar conditions and easy entry points for trips based out of Malé.
