Malé

Lankan Caves

Lankan Caves is a shallow reef site in the Malé region known for hanging cavern-like caverns and swim-throughs formed by natural limestone and coral structures. The site typically offers calm conditions with clear tropical water, making it suitable for beginner to intermediate divers exploring sheltered ledges, small overhangs, and networked crevices. Expect a mix of hard corals and soft corals, with reef fish such as parrotfish, fusiliers, angelfish, damselfish and occasionally moray eels. The cave-like tunnels provide interesting navigation features and opportunities for light penetration, but visibility and currents can vary with weather. Access is convenient from Malé, with nearby centers offering guided dives and boat departures. Always plan for a conservative entry and respect the fragile reef structure.”,
