The Canyon

The Canyon is a local dive site to the northeast of Gozo, situated in clear coastal waters. The site features a deep, grooved canyon-like terrain with vertical sections and swim-throughs, typically accessed from a rocky shoreline. Conditions are generally calm in good weather, with moderate to strong currents possible at depth. Expected marine life includes common Mediterranean-influenced species such as groupers, damselfish, moray eels, and octopus, with posidonia meadows nearby in the surrounding seafloor habitats. This site is suited to certified divers with appropriate training for canyon navigation and depth, and is commonly used as a training or exploratory dive by local operators.
