Alex Cave

Alex Cave is a shallow limestone cave dive in a Mediterranean setting. Access is typically from shore or a short boat hop, with entry through a cavern or swim-through that opens into a broader underwater gallery. Depths are generally modest, making it suitable for experienced beginners with proper training and buoyancy control. The site features a mix of rock walls, small overhangs, and occasional sandy patches, with clear to moderate visibility typical of rocky coastal environments. Marine life often includes common Western Mediterranean species like groupers, wrasse, octopuses, and spotted nudibranchs, along with abundant sessile life on the cave walls. Currents can be variable; plan for slack conditions and always dive with a buddy and local briefing. Nearby towns Ghajnsielem, Qala and Mġarr provide access and services for divers exploring the area.
