Żebbuġ

Cathedral Cave

Cathedral Cave is a shallow coastal dive site on the Maltese island of Gozo. The site features a large underwater arch and a sheltered cave-like chamber connected to a vertical wall. Access is straightforward from a local shore entry, with calm conditions most days and mild currents typical of sheltered bays. Depths are generally shallow, making it suitable for beginners with supervision, while offering interesting topography and light filter rays through the cave-like opening. Marine life includes small-school reef fish, wrasse, blennies, and occasional octopus around the rocky ledges and crevices. The surrounding coastline is dotted with additional dive opportunities near Żebbuġ, Għasri and Marsalforn, all within a short drive.
