Tanote Bay

Tanote Bay is a shallow to mid-depth reef and wall dive site on Ko Tao. The bay features a sloping coral-covered seabed with a steep wall dropping from around 6–8 meters to deeper sections, offering easy entry from the rocky shore. Visibility varies with tides and conditions but is typically good around the bay. Expect a mix of soft corals, reef fish, and occasional small pelagics in the open water near the wall. It is a popular site for beginners and for practicing buoyancy, with straightforward navigation and a relaxed current when conditions allow. For macro lovers, small critters and nudibranchs can be found among the corals. Access is quick from Ko Tao town, with local dive operators running short trips from nearby beaches.
