Key Largo

Snapper Ledge Reef

Snapper Ledge Reef is a shallow to mid-depth reef site in Key Largo’s offshore reef tract. The ledges create gentle drop-offs with sandy patches in between, making it suitable for both beginner and intermediate divers. Expect typical Caribbean reef life, including a variety of reef fishes, snapper species, and occasional small reef sharks in the area. Currents are usually mild to moderate depending on conditions, and drift dives are common along the ledges. Access is best from local dive boats out of Key Largo, with entry from the reef line and brief boat transfer from shore access. Visibility can vary but is commonly good, and seas are generally calm in protected areas of the reef system.
