Horseshoe Reef

Horseshoe Reef is a shallow reef site near Key Largo, offering easy drift and wall sections over typically clear Atlantic waters. The reef structure forms a horseshoe shape with patches of hard corals, fingers and swim-throughs that are suitable for beginners and intermediate divers. Expect common Caribbean reef life such as snapper, parrotfish, angelfish, nurse sharks on occasion, and a variety of reef invertebrates. Visibility commonly ranges from good to moderate, depending on currents and weather. Entry is usually from a boat or shore-based dive site launch, with a relaxed current that allows relaxed exploration along the reef crest and along gentle drops around the edge.
