Sand Bottom Cave

Sand Bottom Cave is a shallow, sandy-bottom site near Key Largo, accessed by a straightforward entry from a sandy shoreline. The wreck-free area typically features a series of low-profile holes and a gentle drop into a sandy cave-like feature, where divers may feel a sense of shelter and slight current at times. Expect clear-turquoise shallows and soft bottom topography with sparse large rocks. The site is suitable for beginner to intermediate divers looking for a relaxed drift-free dive with easy navigation. Typical Florida Keys fauna include small reef fish, spurting blades of seagrass nearby, and occasional stingrays along the sand. This site is best dived in calm conditions with good buoyancy control.
