North Star

North Star is a shallow, easy-access reef dive near Key Largo. Located within a short boat ride of the coast, the site features a healthy coral garden with a mix of hard corals and colorful tropical fish. Divers typically start from a sandy patch and follow a gentle slope to a drop-off where visibility is usually good and currents are mild, making it suitable for beginners and training dives. Expect encounters with reef fish, parrotfish, wrasse, damselfish, and occasional juvenile reef sharks in the area, with the chance to explore scattered coral heads and a mosaic of sponges along the reef. The site offers straightforward navigation, minimal surge, and a relaxed underwater environment that suits leisurely dives or school/guide-led sessions.
