Hondoq Reef

Hondoq Reef is a shallow, accessible reef dive along the Maltese island of Gozo. The site sits near the neighborhood of Hondoq ir-Rummien on Gozo’s northeastern coast, with a gently sloping reef and plentiful small marine life. Divers typically enter from a beach or rocky shore and glide along the reef edge at shallow depths, making it suitable for a wide range of experience levels. Expect clear water conditions, moderate currents at times, and excellent macro opportunities for nudibranchs, blennies, damselfish, and small crustaceans. The reef supports healthy seagrass patches nearby and provides a straightforward drift-read as visibility remains reliable on calm days. The site lies relatively close to the towns of Qala, Għajnsielem and Nadur, offering convenient access for local divers.
