Fessej Rock

Fessej Rock is a shallow, easy-access dive site near the Maltese island of Gozo. The site features a rock outcrop that slopes to around 10–14 metres, with gentle drop-offs and a mix of sandy patches and small crevices. Expect calm conditions on sheltered days and typical Mediterranean marine life common to Maltese waters, including wrasse, smaller reef fish, octopus, and occasional lobsters observed around rocky edges. The site is suitable for beginners and for refresher dives, with a straightforward entry from a boat or shore depending on local conditions. Nearby dive centers based in Mġarr, Sannat and Qala frequently run trips to Fessej Rock, making it a convenient option for a half- to full-day dive plan when visiting Gozo. Always check local currents and weather, as conditions can change quickly around the rocky coastline.
