Caramassaigne

Caramassaigne is a local Mediterranean dive site near Cassis, typically accessed by a short boat ride from the Calanques coast. The site features a sloping seabed with rocky outcrops that host a variety of coral-forming organisms and macro life. Depths here are generally shallow to moderate, making it suitable for intermediate guided dives or training dives when conditions allow. Expect clear water, moderate currents, and good visibility on calm days. Common species in the region include groupers, moray eels, octopus, and wrasses, with posidonia meadows nearby sustaining a diverse reef ecosystem. The site lies within easy reach of Cassis and Marseille, making it a practical option for a day trip from the coast.
