Black Coral

Black Coral is a shallow reef dive site near Gulhi Falhu and Malé, set in the tropical Maldives. Typical conditions include clear warm water and calm seas with good visibility. The site features healthy hard corals and patchy sandy bottoms, with chances to encounter common reef fish such as snappers, fusiliers and parrotfish. Entry is usually from shore or a short boat ride, with a mellow profile suitable for recreational divers. It is best dived in calm conditions and can be used for a relaxed first or twilight dive, depending on local access and current. Nearby atolls and channels influence currents, so plan for a drift-like ride if tides are running.
