Karon

Karon is a coastal town on Phuket Island in southern Thailand. While not a stand-alone diving city, it serves as a convenient gateway for divers exploring the Andaman Sea. Nearby dive centers concentrate in Phuket town, Patong, and other resort areas, offering shore and boat dives to nearby reefs, wrecks, and island groups. With warm tropical waters, good visibility in season, and diverse marine life including reef fish and occasional larger pelagics, most divers stay in the area to access day trips or short charters from Phuket. For freshwater options, the area is not known for inland diving. Overall, Karon acts as a convenient base for accessing Phuket’s broader diving scene rather than a primary dive destination itself.
