Timanfaya is a volcanic landscape on Lanzarote offering unique underwater opportunities around coastal sites shaped by lava flows. The dive typically focuses on accessible reefs and rocky outcrops in shallow to moderate depths with clear Atlantic waters and strong underwater visibility given sea state. Common sights include rocky formations, caverns and patches of marine life typical of Canary Islands reefs such as parrotfish, wrasse and blennies, and occasional octopus and moray eels along crevices. Access is usually via local dive centers in Yaiza or nearby coastal towns, with conditions varying by wind and swell. This site is best suited to certified divers comfortable with rock-dominated topography and currents that may arise from Atlantic swells.
