Santa Maria Caves

Santa Maria Caves is a coastal dive site off the northwest coast of Gozo, Malta. The site features a series of submerged limestone caverns and swim-throughs formed by cooling sea passage through rocky ledges. Access is straightforward from shore or a small boat drop, with entrances at shallow to mid depths and gentle to moderate currents depending on conditions. Typical visibility is good in clear Mediterranean waters. The caves host a range of Western Mediterranean reef life, including bream, wrasse, climbing cigars of lobster, and moray eels, with posidonia meadows nearby. The site is suitable for improve-your-skills dives and for experienced divers exploring the swim-throughs when currents are favorable.
