Kralendijk

Reef Scientifico (28)

Reef Scientifico, also known as Elephant Rock, sits off Bonaire’s west coast near Kralendijk. This shallow reef site features a series of hard coral formations and a gentle slope that drops into healthy underwater plains. Entry is straightforward from the shore or a short boat ride, with calm conditions on typical Bonaire days. Expect clear, warm water and vibrant reef life including stony corals, parrotfish, angelfish and trumpetfish, plus lobsters and small groupers in crevices. The site is well suited to beginners and snorkelers as well as divers working on buoyancy and basic skills. It’s common to see macro life in the relief of the reef, while occasional currents may influence drift along the drop-offs. Depths are generally shallow, making this a safe, accessible option for a relaxed dive or snorkel in the Bonaire Marine Park area.
