Île Des Eyglaudes

Île des Eyglaudes is a small island site off Marseille’s coastline, presenting typically shallow Mediterranean conditions suitable for fun and training dives. Access is from shore or a nearby dive center, with easy entry from calm beaches and gentle swim-outs to gradual sloping shallows. Expect clear to moderate visibility and a seabed of rocky reefs and seagrass meadows in the surrounding area. Marine life is representative of the Western Mediterranean, including small groupers, wrasse, moray eels, octopus and plenty of colourful invertebrates on the rocky outcrops. The site is popular for drift-free, relaxed dives around shallow ledges and sand patches, with visibility and currents varying with weather. Common dive types are reef and shallow protection from the open sea makes it a suitable choice for beginners and training days when local conditions allow.
