Gamul Kebir

Gamul Kebir is a coastal dive site near Safaga in the Egyptian Red Sea. The site features a typical reef-plateau profile with shallow lagoons giving way to reef slopes and small bommies. Access is straightforward from shore or boat, with gentle to moderate currents common in some conditions. Expect clear warm water, good visibility, and a mix of hard corals, sponges, and a variety of schooling fish. Common Red Sea species such as snappers, parrotfish, unicornfish, angelfish, and reef-dwelling wrasse are typical, while occasional larger reef inhabitants may be seen on deeper sections. This site suits divers of all levels, with options for drift along the plateau for experienced divers if conditions allow.
