Safaga

Safaga is a well-known Red Sea diving base on Egypt’s Red Sea coast, set between the Hurghada area to the north and quieter stretches farther south. From here, many dive centers run boat trips to nearby reefs and drop-offs, where conditions are often warm with good visibility on clear days. Typical dives focus on sandy slopes, coral areas, and walls/tombants depending on the site. Marine life commonly includes reef fish and, on the right days, larger species such as rays, turtles, and occasional pelagics. Safaga is also popular for divers who want fewer crowds than some larger resorts, while still having daily local access to dives by boat and shore in suitable areas.
