Tulamben
Usat Liberty (Wreck)
USAT Liberty is a famous WWII wreck dive off Tulamben, Bali. The wreck lies on a gentle downward slope in shallow to mid-depth water and is accessible from the shore via a short boat or a shore entry near the beach. The wreck rests in primarily calm, tropical Indonesian seas; visibility is variable but often good, especially near calm periods. The site is characterized by the ship’s hull and superstructure resting on a sandy bottom, with recreational penetration opportunities for experienced divers with appropriate training. Typical tropical reef life can be seen in the surrounding area, including damselfish, parrotfish, angelfish, and occasional reef sharks, with a healthy colonization of soft corals and sponges on the wreck. Hovering near the hull and exploring the exterior can provide a straightforward and rewarding wreck experience close to Tulamben.
