Mellieħa

Mellieha Bay

Mellieha Bay is a sheltered Maltese dive site on the island’s north coast, known for its shallow to moderate depths and easy access from Mellieħa, Saint Paul’s Bay and surrounding towns. The bay features sandy and rocky substrates with calm conditions that suit newer divers and family snorkelers venturing toward the reef edges. Typical Mediterranean species include damselfish, wrasse, bream and octopus, with occasional cuttlefish near the shallower patches. The site offers straightforward entry from beaches and a couple of shore access points, with clear visibility common in good weather. It forms part of a broader coastal reef system and provides a gentle introduction to Maltese underwater habitats.
