Grande Baie

Grande Baie is a shallow coastal dive site located along the French Riviera near Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Nice and Villefranche-sur-Mer. The area features typical Mediterranean coastal topography with sandy and rocky sections and sheltered conditions suitable for beginner to intermediate divers. Depths are generally shallow, with gentle slope entries and easy navigation along the bottom. Expect clear to moderate visibility in good conditions, and a variety of common Western Mediterranean species such as wrasse,/seabream, moray eels and octopus around rocky outcrops and small reefs. While not a famous deep site, Grande Baie offers pleasant, relaxed diving in a busy tourist area and is often used for training and short recreational dives. Access is straightforward from nearby towns, with calm seas common in good weather, making it a good option for a half-day submersion close to the Côte d’Azur.
