Gamat Bay

Gamat Bay is a shallow, sheltered reef site on Bali’s Lembongan network, typically explored from the nearby coastal drop-off. The site features a sloping sandy bottom dotted with hard and soft corals, large seabeds of live rock and numerous small nooks that attract reef fish. Depths are generally gentle, making it suitable for recreational divers and drift during calm conditions. Typical wildlife includes angelfish, butterflyfish, parrotfish, triggerfish and a variety of wrasse, with occasional larger reef residents along the drop-off edges. Access is straightforward from local boats, with a gentle entry from a sandy patch and calm surface conditions common during good visibility days. Currents can be variable, so light preparation and awareness of surge are recommended. This site pairs well with nearby dive hubs and offers easy photography opportunities for macro and wide-angle shots.
