Toyapakeh
Sakenan / Mangrove Point
Sakenan / Mangrove Point is a local Bali dive site near Sanur and Nusa Penida, commonly explored from nearby Kokonut Bay. The site comprises a shallow, gently sloping sandy to mixed-bottom area with bedrock and fringe mangroves nearby. It offers calm conditions suitable for beginners and drift exposure is limited to minor surface activity. Divers typically enter from a protected beach or boat and follow a gentle contour through seagrass beds and patches of coral and rubble. Expect a mix of reef fish, parrotfish, snappers, and occasional moray eels around the drop-offs, with better biodiversity along the mangrove-adjacent zones. The proximity to Mangrove Point adds a sheltered macro and micro-habitat experience for macro photographers. Access from Toyapakeh and Jungutbatu is straightforward, with short boat rides or a land transfer to a nearby beach launch point.
