Cochons

Cochons is a coastal dive site near Nice, France, commonly reached from the sheltered bays along the French Riviera. The site offers straightforward entry from rocky shore or small beach approaches and a shallow beginner-friendly area that transitions to a sloping, gently dropping bottom beyond a few metres. Typical conditions on the Riviera include clear blue water in calm weather with moderate currents possible near structure edges. Marine life is representative of the Western Mediterranean: small grouper and bream, wrasses, octopus, cuttlefish, two- and four-spot littorals, and seasonal shoals of damselfish around rocky ledges. The site’s proximity to Nice and the close-by towns makes it a convenient option for a half- to full-day coastal dive, often paired with boat trips to nearby calanques or the anchored structure along the coast.
