Black Beach

Black Beach is a coastal site near Tías on Lanzarote, known for its sandy shelf and clear Atlantic waters. The area typically features shallow to moderate depths with easy entry from the beach, making it a suitable option for beginner to intermediate divers. Expect a sandy bottom with limited structural features, occasional patches of rocky outcrops, and a variety of common Canary Islands reef species such as small wrasse, damselfish, urchins, and starfish. Visibility varies with currents and wave action but is generally acceptable on calmer days. The site is often used for simple drift dives along the shore and for practicing buoyancy and stage-gear skills, rather than for spectacular wrecks or deep walls. Access is convenient from nearby towns, with quick drives from Tías and San Bartolomé. Nearby centers along the coast provide gear rental and guided dives.
