Kihei
5 Graves
5 Graves is a drift dive along Maui’s south shore, typically accessed from shore or a short boat ride. The site runs near the edge of a coastal shelf with relatively gentle to moderate current, making it suitable for experienced beginners with supervision or intermediate divers. Expect a sandy bottom with scattered rocky outcrops and a cluster of small monuments or rock formations that earn the site its name. Underwater topography features include gentle inclines, small swim-throughs, and occasional patches of rocky rubble that shelter a range of reef-associated fish. Common species in this region include wrasses, tangs, damselfish, triggerfish, and occasional reef sharks or eagle rays in favorable conditions. Visibility is often good, especially on calm days, with water temperatures typical of tropical Pacific seas.
