Ulua Beach Park
Ulua Beach Park is a coastal reef site off Maui’s southwest shore, popular for shore diving. The area features a gentle slope with sandy patches, groups of rocks and coral heads that host typical Hawaiian reef life. Divers commonly enter from the beach and follow a moon-shaped reef ridge to shallower and mid-depth zones, with calm surface conditions typical of good weather days. Expect a mix of reef fish, tangs, wrasses, and occasional green sea turtles in the broader Napili/Maui reef ecosystem, and keep an eye on surge during stronger trades. The site is suitable for recreational divers, drift is generally minimal along the sandier sections, and visibility can vary with currents and recent weather. Access is straightforward from the park facilities, and nearby towns provide dive centers and rental gear support.
