Hyères is a coastal town in southeastern France that serves as a practical gateway to the Mediterranean diving in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. It offers quick access to nearby dive sites along the coast, including rocky reef ecosystems, walls, and sheltered bays. The town hosts a number of dive centers that operate day trips and FRO (flexible) itineraries to nearby sites in the Western Mediterranean, suitable for both new divers and experienced ones. While Hyères itself is not a major international dive hub, its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the Hyères archipelago and coastal dive sites, as well as freshwater options within the broader region for training and practice.

I dived from Hyères on the natural marine parc of Port-Cros, and I need to admit that it's one of the best spots for scuba diving in France. The marine protection works really well : the school of fishes are dense, groupers are huge, and there's a beautiful marine life diversity. Landscapes are georgous as well. Definitely a spot to go!
