L'esquillade

L'Esquillade is a Mediterranean coastal dive site accessed from the towns along the Rayol-Canadel–Bormes/Cavalaire corridor. The site sits in shallow to moderate depths with rocky seabeds and scattered patches of posidonia meadows. Entry is typically from small piers or gentle shoreline slopes, making it suitable for confident beginners and visitors exploring the Var coast. Typical visibility is moderate in calm conditions, with water temperatures aligning with Western Mediterranean norms. Common local fauna include groupers, brown meagre, wrasses, blennies, octopus and lobsters, with seasonal visits by damsels and filefish around rocky outcrops. The area is part of a familiar coast where multiple dive centers operate, and access is convenient from nearby towns within a short drive.
