Sec Des Murènes, Porquerolles

Sec des Murènes, Porquerolles is a sheltered eastern Mediterranean dive site off the Île de Porquerolles near Hyères. The site features a sloping rocky seabed with ledges that commonly host a mix of Mediterranean species. Depths typically start around a few metres and descend to the mid-teens, with a comfortable profile for recreational divers. The wall and sheltered bays create a combination of vertical sections and gentle slopes, often with clear visibility in good conditions. Expect habitat like groupers, wrasses, moray eels, octopus, and plenty of gorgonians and posidonia meadows nearby. Entry is straightforward from a boat or shore-based access, with calmer conditions on wind-sheltered faces. The site is well-suited for calm-weather dives, beginners to intermediate divers, and for practicing buoyancy close to structures and rock formations.
