La Grotte De La Vierge

La grotte de la vierge is a beginner-friendly Mediterranean dive site formed by two rocky ridges connected by a shallow tunnel around 8 to 12 meters, with a large entry area and a sheltered ambiance. The site offers straightforward navigation and stable conditions suitable for introductory dives, especially in calm seas. The vertical walls and slim channels create sheltered pockets where divers can observe typical Western Mediterranean life: groupers, moray eels, octopus, nudibranchs, lobsters, and the surrounding posidonia meadows. Access is easy from La Ciotat and nearby coastal towns, with the dive often performed as a drift-free, relaxed experience along the rocky seabed. Depths are shallow to moderate, making it a practical option for training dives or fun dives in good visibility.
