Six Fours Les Plages
Plate Aux Mérous
Plate aux Mérous is a shallow Mediterranean reef dive near coastal towns in southern France. The site typically features rocky reef structures at shallow depths with clear visibility in good weather. Expect frequent sightings of common Western Mediterranean species such as groupers (mérous), sea bream, moray eels, a variety of wrasses and damselfish, and soft corals in sheltered areas. Access is straightforward from nearby towns; the site offers easy entry from the shore and a calm, sheltered environment suitable for beginners and training dives, weather permitting. The topography includes sloping reef formations with gentle drop-offs and swim-through opportunities in protected sections. Currents are usually mild, making it a relaxed dive that pairs well with coastal exploration around Six-Fours-les-Plages, Sanary-sur-Mer, and Bandol.
