Tioman Island

Tioman Island sits off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia in the South China Sea. It’s best known as a gateway for Indonesian-Malaysian coral reef dives and island-hopping, with several dive centers operating on the main village strips. The island offers a mix of shallow reef dives, wall drops, and occasional macro muck sites near shore. Visibility and conditions vary seasonally, and marine life commonly includes reef fish, nudibranchs, and occasional turtles. For divers, the appeal is easy access from the mainland via ferries or short flights, along with on-island accommodations and dive packages.
