Cadaqués

Cadaqués is a coastal town in Catalonia on Spain’s North Atlantic-facing shoreline, and it works mainly as a gateway for scuba diving in the wider Costa Brava area. From the town, divers typically access rocky coasts and small offshore spots rather than large “reef” systems, with conditions that can change quickly with wind and currents. In general, expect clear saltwater dives close to shore, good visibility on calm days, and an emphasis on shoreline topography (bays, ledges, and rocky slopes) suitable for a range of experience levels. For a different kind of training or relaxed day, there are freshwater options in Catalonia such as Banyoles Lake, but these are day trips rather than local coastal diving.
