Playa Corona

Playa Corona is a coastal area in Quintana Roo on Mexico’s Caribbean Sea side. It’s mainly a gateway for shore access and short boat trips to nearby reef and seagrass habitats around the region. Expect typical Caribbean conditions: generally warm water, good visibility on calmer days, and a mix of reef-associated fish and invertebrates, with local variation depending on the exact site and season. There are also plenty of day trips organized out of the surrounding Riviera Maya–Cozumel area, so most divers plan with dive operators for equipment, site selection, and currents. If you’re coming for a specific kind of dive (shallow snorkeling-style reefs, deeper reef walls, or photography), ask locally about visibility and whether the day’s route includes the calmer, protected areas.
