Mexico offers saltwater scuba diving across the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific coasts. In the east, around Quintana Roo, divers commonly plan trips to wrecks, reefs, and walls with warm, clear water much of the year, plus popular boat dives from coastal hubs such as Playa del Carmen and Cozumel. On the Pacific side (notably Baja California Sur), conditions are often cooler and more variable, with strong currents possible and more emphasis on rocky coasts, canyons, and productive dive areas where marine life tends to concentrate. Visibility frequently ranges from good to very good on boat trips, but it can drop after rough weather or rain. In general, Mexico is a solid choice for a range of levels, from guided reef dives to advanced drift and current-oriented profiles, with access to both day trips and liveaboard-style routes depending on the region.
