Yomitan

Yomitan is a coastal town in Okinawa (Nakagami District), on Japan’s subtropical islands. It’s less of a large “city dive hub” and more of a practical base for divers staying near the resort strip, with access to nearby shore dives and short boat trips depending on local schedules. Water is typically warm for much of the year, and conditions can vary by season and wind, so it’s worth checking visibility and current at the time. Diving here is usually focused on reef life and clear-water tropical scenery rather than big-city logistics, with rental, briefings, and training most easily arranged through local operators in the wider Okinawa area.
