Green Marker
Green Marker is a small, drift-friendly dive site located near Kadena on Okinawa Island. The site typically features coral and rocky bottoms with moderate marine life typical of western Pacific reefs. As a shallow-to-mid depth site, divers often start with a surface interval in the lee of the marker and follow a gentle current along the reef edge. Access is straightforward from local dive centers around Kadena and Chatan, and the area offers easy reach within a few minutes by road. Conditions are usually calm, with visibility commonly ranging from good to average depending on weather and tides. Expect common reef species such as sergeant majors, surgeonfishes, parrotfish, triggerfish, and occasional reef sharks in larger Atlantic-like habitats, along with diverse invertebrates on the rocky outcrops. The site is suitable for recreational divers and those practicing drift techniques under supervision.
