Ilam Province

Ilam Province is a highland region in western Iran, with limited direct access to saltwater and diving. Most diving activity in the area centers on freshwater or acclimatized sites around inland waters; the province itself is not known for offshore tropical diving. Nearby coastal provinces along the Persian Gulf or Oman Sea offer more typical diving opportunities, but within Ilam Province the dive scene is very limited and largely dependent on local conditions and small-scale exposures. If present, diving would be minimal and largely recreational and exploratory in nature.
