🇮🇷 Iran
Iran offers scuba diving mainly along its southern coasts: the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Most divers focus on warm-water coastal access from bases around Hormozgan (including Qeshm) and other Gulf-facing areas, where conditions are generally better in the warmer months and boats are common for reaching dive spots. In contrast, the Caspian Sea is a freshwater sea and is a very different diving environment, with cooler water and a limited choice compared with the south. Overall, Iran’s diving infrastructure is smaller than in neighboring Red Sea destinations, so trip planning usually means working closely with a local dive center for season timing, briefing, and site access. If you’re coming for a supported shore or short-boat schedule, plan for fewer “always-on” options than in more developed dive regions.
