Taba is a small resort town at Egypt’s southern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba, across the water from Jordan and not far from Israel. It’s mainly a gateway for Red Sea scuba diving, with access to nearby reef walls and drop-offs that are typical of the Gulf of Aqaba. Most diving is done on short boat trips, including guided dives for certified divers and basic training for people taking their first steps with a center in town. Conditions are usually best when winds are mild; visibility and current can vary by day and site. Marine life commonly includes reef fish, and you may also see larger pelagics depending on the season and specific dive location.
