Sakieda Meiro

Sakieda Meiro is a local shore dive site near Ishigaki, in shallow tropical waters typical of the Okinawa area. The site lies within easy reach from the coast and offers a straightforward entry for beginners and a relaxed dive for more experienced divers taking a short safety stop. Expect clear warm water, limited currents, and abundant tropical marine life common to the region. You’ll typically see small reef fish, several species of damselfish and wrasse, occasional moray eels, and scattered coral formations. The site is best explored to around 10–15 metres, with a shallow exposed ridge and gentle slope that suits calm days and a relaxed dive tempo. Nearby Ishigaki serves as the main access hub, with Taketomi just a short boat hop away for those continuing the day’s dive plan.
